As a businessman, born and raised in Turkey, I believed that I have the obligation to serve my country and pay my dues as a social responsibility. In accordance with my belief and assuming the most important and significant investment being; “Support given to the education”, I presumed liability for providing 3000 scholarships from 1984 till this day.

Contributing to the educational needs of my country was a subject I took very seriously at every stage of my life. When I went back to Ağrı in 1998 for the groundbreaking ceremony of my second school İbrahim Çeçen Elementary School, the headline of newspaper Milliyet read “The poorest city in Turkey with per capita income of 550 dollars is Ağrı”. This news made me very upset and I was deeply moved. For that reason, I chose Ağrı, the city I was born and one of the poorest cities in Turkey, to be the pilot region.

I founded İbrahim Çeçen Foundation in 2004 considering that it would be more useful and efficient to continue these activities under a corporate structure. However, limiting these contributions only with education simply did not suffice. After adding the issues of health, athletics and culture to foundation’s activities, we took a step further and established IC Art Gallery to host the cultural events of the foundation.
